More silly questions

Since were all in the Christmas spirit tonight and asking fun but obvious questions yielding long threads, I will keep the fun going:

MY QUESTION

If it takes a chicken and a half a day and a half to lay and egg and a half HOW LONG WOIULD IT TAKE 3 CHICKENS TO LAY 3 EGGS

Its NOT a trick question use basic math disregard there's no such thing as a 1/2 chicken or 1/2 an egg lol

The way I heard it, it was if it takes a chicken and a half a day and a half to lay an egg and a half, how much BS does it take to grow 20 bananas on the flight deck of the USS Coral Sea?

The answer to that is one Congressman.

The math comes out to be one chicken one day to lay one egg, but depending on how you read the question it takes each chicken three days to lay three eggs.

CONGRATULATIONS to John Bill and Paul, they agree with me

Heres why I think the answer is 1.5 days

If you have TWICE the chickens (1.5 x 2 = 3) why cant they lay TWICE the eggs (1.5 x 2 = 3)

IN THE SAME TIME IE 1.5 DAYS

Is 1.5 right and are my reasons valid or not ?????????

Merry CHRISTmas everyone

I'm with you Duner. There is an old riddle that is similar .... If a carpenter can build a house in one day, how long does it take 3 carptenters to build 3 houses? The answer is one day. So here today we really have one chicken taking one day to lay one egg. So 3 chickens would get 3 eggs laid in one day as well. Makes sense to me. Was that your thinking?

Three hunters rented a cabin for $30.00 ($10.00 each). Owner told helper to return $5.00 to them.Hunters said it was too hard to divide $5.00 between three hunters. They asked for $1.00 each and to keep $2.00 for a tip. $10.00 minus $1.00 equals $9.00 times three equals $27.00 plus $2.00 tip equals $29.00. What happened to the other $1.00? To keep this tractorish, I have a John Deere 60 Lo seat & High seat tractors. Thank you, GP

hat is a word/mind game, not a math problem.

Yep. This one has been around for a while. We used to wrestle with this back when I was a kid.

But it's not an issue. The topic of the thread is "Silly questions", not "Math problems".
