More wheel rim questions 711b

Ok got the new centers mounted on the axels and followed the owners manual about the placement of the two drive lug dogs to the top of the center. Placed the double bevel rim so that two of the drive lugs set onto the two dogs. Now here's where it gets weird. I can't get any of the other lugs in position. the two drive dogs hold the rim up so hi that nothing else will go in.

Sorry if I'm missing something here, I've changed out plenty of the yellow centers and rims with the self adjusting type lug on say a green tractor called an "A".

Thanks

Loosen up the two drive lugs. Then put on the rest of your rim clamps. After they are all on then start at 12 oclock and snug one of the drive lugs, then 6 and snug that clamp, then 3,9 and so-on around the wheel and then repeat several times. The same as you would do with a Daton truck wheel.

Well I'm trying to use double bevel rims that came painted yellow. I don't know if that makes a difference, but with the drive dog lugs on the center and the rims sitting on those, the center almost
touches the rim on the bottom.

Can you post a pic of your wheel and rim?? That may help us out here.
My son and I put a yellow rim off a Jd2510, 36" onto our 511B. The only issue we found was the drive lugs on the rim were spaced diff so we are only useing one rim lug and one drive lug.

(quoted from post at 00:00:35 01/04/16) double bevels aren't all made the same, you need to compare the number of drive lugs and clamps to the old ones

What I'm trying to use is a 16 x 38 double bevel with 6 drive bumps per bevel.

Loren, this will be for my pulling tractor so not sure one drive lug per side would be enough.

a 700 doesn't have bumps on the bevel just 2 drive spots 12 inches apart and uses 8 clamps, sounds like you have the wrong rims, why don't you just put on pressed steel rims?

If I could find 9 bolt hubs reasonable I would

OK they will work, might take you an hour or two to find the right comb.for them to fit.We got into that on my 830 Case. Those rims are different(lug spacing),just keep rotating around and trying, there is only ONE way they will fit.

Thanks for the reply Massey 333. I've spoken with a number of people about this and all said they had heard about the problem just couldn't remember the solution.

Well I have them mounted now. It required the judicious application of a spud bar, a drift pin and a BFH

Now that I know how it all fits, I have to say it is bar none the best mounting system I have seen. Once the Bolts are tight the rim runs true and round.

Had to use 3 of the drive dogs since the rim has 7 of the drive bumps per bevel.

Here's a pic of what she does best. Took second place to a 839 Cube JD "G".
