I think they also kill chickens...or so I've been told.

They sure do, we had one kill a full sized laying hen.

5 gallon bucket trap with 5-20 used motor oil, the oil won't evaporate and a mouse won't last long in it.

Where the chickens and cats can't got to it is next to impossible

We’re trying to one of those 5 gallon bucket traps. How successful have any of you guys been using them????

Last winter at the orchard where I work, guy made one and used rv antifreeze in it. Was kind out of the way and didn’t get checked for a long time. Finally after many weeks he dumped it out and counted the dead mice. There were 32 in it. That one worked real well. Just a water bottle covered with peanut butter spinning on a piece of heavy wire.
