A lot depends on how fast and soon you want it moved and if you need a dock or ramps or a roll back to load it. Can the guy get down your road/street to it or does it need to be hauled to the truck? Can it be driven on or need to be set on with a forklift /loader or such. I've loaded equipment like a smaller Cat dozer they didn't want to mess with starting in the cold and had a loader to lift it so they just set it on. Probably around a 1.00-1.50 or a bit more as a partial if you want it to go as a load then closer to the 2.00-3.00 mile. Been a few years since I quoted loads so could be off some.

This forum is more for technical questions about hauling equipment, such as trailer size, tiedowns, etc.. Back on the home page for yesterday's tractor is the hauling schedule. That's where you post what you need moved, to get a quote. Just click on the logo in the top left corner of the screen and select "hauling schedule" from the "Resources" drop-down menu.

With everything that's gone on in the past few years especially, I doubt you'll be able to find anyone to haul it for anywhere near $1 a loaded mile anymore. Maybe if you have a buddy with a trailer, but if you had a buddy with a trailer you probably wouldn't be here, right? $1-$1.50 a loaded mile was the go-to answer for the past 30 years or so, but operating costs have done nothing but go up-up-up. Something has to give sooner or later, and haulers have cut every corner they can. I'd count myself lucky to have it hauled for $3 a loaded mile at this point. Mind you that's just driving it from point A to point B. You need to load it and someone needs to unload it at the other end unless it runs and drives.

If you need to hire a wrecker to crane it on and off the trailer, that's something you need to do yourself. Sometimes the truck driver can help with advice, like he did with my dead tractor. He knew a guy that lived right around the corner with a Landoll trailer who came up and lifted the tractor up and rolled it on to the deck of the trucker's rig.
