moving an inopperable 50A backhoe

I bought a 50a backhoe that locked up the engine in the first hour. I need to get it back to the garage and split the tractor and rebuild the engine. The steering is all hydraulic. How do you steer them when towing? I am thinking about removing the loader off of it first using my payloader.

Follow on question, once i get it running can it be driven with the loader hydraulics disconnected? Is there a way to bypass them? It would be lots easier to just drive under the loader and put the pins back in.

(quoted from post at 17:46:54 07/13/21) it will turn when you pull it not fast but it will turn
I need to remove the loader. Will it pull better with or without the loader. I have to tow it close to a 1/4 wile and have roughly 3 turns. I can remove the loader at either end of the tow.

Just throwing out an idea, could you
chain the loader arms of the backhoe down
to the front end then use the payloader
to scoop up the bucket of the backhoe
loader. Chain the backhoe loader to the
payloader bucket so it is secured. When
you scoop up the backhoe loader the
chains will hold the arms down and pick
up the front end the just drive the
payloader in reverse if it is a 1/4 mile
unless you where expecting to tow it in
road gear.

Engine is locked up so I can't use any onboard hydraulics. The towing is all on dirt roads on my private property.

You don't need to use the backhoe hyd. I
am guessing the front arms are down. Wrap
a chain around the arms and the front end
so the arms can't go up. Then use the
payloader and pick up the arms on the
backhoe that should the pick the entire
front end of the backhoe up and you can
drag it home with out worrying about
steering.

Ok, Now I get it. I might try that first for the bulk of the drive.
