On the side of the shed at home we had a piece of something that reminded my young mind of half leaf rake. I never had enough interest to ask pa what it was. Thirty years later I drove by one on the side of the old granary on a very modern daiy farm. The attachment is a flat stock about 6' long with 8 to 10 flat bars of decreasing length perpendicular to the stock. When I quized some of my more vintage siblings I discovered that it is a windrower for a cicle mower. Later I ran across an old neighbor that recalled cutting grain with one. His job was to walk behind the JD #7 with the fork to help the cut grain off the windrower and into a row. That sounds like it was alot more fun than catchin' frogs or fishing. Has anyone out there worked with these?
