Would like to know what mower model/models that would have been available with "H" tractor. '39-'47

The <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rnH8n4KOYoU&feature=share">JD No. 5 sickle mower</a> will be the most common and probably the most available.

Yes a #5 was a good mower but when did it come out? I thought it was later. What models preceeded it and what years were they in production?

Parts indicates 1934 as beginning build date. #4 mower preceded #5

Thanks guys. I didn't realize a #5 had been made for that long.
Had a guy tell me he had a mower for an "H" but didn't think it was a #5.

Thanks, glad you like both the tractor and mower.

"John B" our 43B has been used to mow several areas around the farm.

After cleaning up the mower, Nancy told me it was too pretty to use.

It now sits in the corner of the tractor shed.

We had a neighbor that used a #5 on an H when it got in tuff mowing it would pull the front of the tractor to the right,, the little H didn't have enough weight to handle the draft in tuff going...
