Mowing for another year

I'm 68 and still cut a couple very large lawns (30 acres plus) and work for a farmer spring and fall. Beware of that rocking chair, stay out of it until that's all you can do. That's my advise, take care.

69, work full time and keep the yards mowed. We have a private lot on the Mississippi and we park the camper there most of the summer. Who has time to retire?😉 Red Power is in Missouri this year and we will spend a week there.

Retired in 06. Work 30 plus hours a week for 4years then bought a semi and trucked grain for 3 years, quit that and bought a large track how and spent 6 years clearing land and helped a farmer. Then in 2019 I pretty much quit all but working on my old tractors. Went through 6 tractors. I highly recommend doing what you want in your retirement. Fortunately I enjoy most of what I did except when it made me too busy. Now There was s little time to work on tractors. Wife was hit by a car in a parking lot. The worst was the very tramatic brain injury. Thief happened in FEB 2023. Now I get little time to do what I like. Whatever you do enjoy it while you can.

At 67 years old I retired from being a high school Agriculture Teacher/FFA Advisor. Went to work for a local tire shop part-time and in less than a month the owner convinced to take over as manager🤭 Now retired I only work 40-50 hours/week!

I was thinking of quitting my mowing jobs. I am not making a lot, but it gives me the ability to do what I like to do. I received a couple calls already, and said ok. I might stop a couple long distance jobs. My JD 401 seams to be running great. I replaced the blades last year on the flail mower. I put new front tires on my 96 Dodge 3500 last year, so no problem there. At 82, I'm glad I can still do it. Anyone out there would like to stop doing what you like to do, but just keep going? Stan
Stan, we will all, eventually quit. I think you know better than anyone else when that time will come for you. Reading between the lines of your dialog for the last couple of years, you don't really want to quit, yet. The hard part for me is the slowing down until you are standing still. I don't know how to set a stop point. But a stop point will come. Just keep doing what you are enjoying. Some of that enjoyment does come from satisfying a client, year after year. steve
