Hello,
I finally got a chance to read your response.
As i stated i have coocked a few cells in my time, and that is one way to learn. The other way is no only to ask questions, but be patient for the answer, i wasn't!
I have experimented with racing battery packs as well. Have you ever paralled 2 cells on a 7 cell pack? My thinking was to get the lowest capacity cell on a 6 pack and add a second cell in parallel to get a bit more time out of the pack.
Those days we were running 7 cells SCR'S hump back packs, for the modified class.
We found out that a good 6 cell pack would outlast a 7 cell pack everytime.

I have noticed when using batteries in parallel that electricity tends to flow through the battery with the lowest resistance when charging, taking the shortest path to other side. Also discovered that the more cells in a 'series' configuration the less the duration of a charge. I believe this is due to batteries having a small resistance in each battery to the flow of current through them as to why they heat up.

I think that when the cells are in series there is a faster flow of current because of the higher voltage. When the cells are in parallel the resistance in each cell is added to the path of the circuit, less current flow. When the cells are in parellel, the resulting resistance is less then the sum of the resistance of the individual cells, so more current flow, but at a slower rate.
