MT Coolant Temp Gauge Probe Location?

I am rebuilding/repainting an MT. When I took the tractor apart the temperature gauge probe pictured on this post, was disconnected. For the life of me cannot find the location where the probe should go. My educated guess is that an aftermarket part was replaced on the cooling system and no longer has a spot for the probe to go. I am making this post just to find out where this probe would go on the tractor. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Have you put coolant in it, yet?

IITC. there should be a port for the sender in the water manifold atop the cylinder head.

Someone may have replaced old gage with electric one. I had an MT at one time, seems that it was on the back of cylinder head or block.

As others have said, in the rear of the water manifold. I'm pretty sure the location was moved to the rear of the head in later years because of how inaccurate it was originally.

I coulden't find a change in the head or water manifold parts files but I did find it in the gauge. After 31936 it was a different part# so something changed there.
