mt oil pump

The mt oil pump that i have sheared the pin on the top gear that drives the pump. Is this a shear pin from john deere or can i use a roll pin in its place. Thanks

It is a solid 5/32 X 1 inch groove pin. Deere or an industrial supply house should have it.(Deere will have to look it up by specifications)

I woulden't trust a roll pin. You might want to look at the bottom gears close cause it shoulden't have sheared unless there was frozen condensation in the pump.

Thanks the pump was frozen up because of water getting in from the oil fill cap was gone. After we started it up the oil psi stoped and to fine that pin was sheared. Thanks for the info.
