MTA plow settings

Hey guys I have a 730 case ck with a 4-14 mounted plow. I"ve never been around a mounted plow and could use some suggestions on how to get it set properly. I know it needs to be leveled front to back with center link but which hook point is used the top or lower? And do I need to lock the lift arms from moving in there slides?

Yes lock the lift arms so there is no float from side to side. The plow should be level in comparison to the ground you are plowing. Barry.

use the lower top link holes, beginner trick. pull the left rear wheel up on an 8 inch block lower plow to the ground to level plow ,I have owned 30 seares tractors for 35 yrs and have never used the top holes for top link. tom in ky.

Ok thanks guys I had the link in lower hole but it"s threaded almost all the way out and still not level so not sure what"s going on. And it is the correct case top link for the tractor. The block is a good idea thanks we"ve always had pull types and semi mounts and there a whole other animal. Lol

Below are some relevant scans out of the MTA manual. None of my manuals show a MTA with 4 bottoms (2 and 3 bottoms only), so I'm wondering is you actually have a later version of that plow which is a 1000 series which was available with 2, 3, 4 & 5 bottoms. I suspect the adjustments and settings are the same, but I don't have a 1000 series operators manual.

Thanks Joe that"s more than I had to go with before. This plow has had the hitch worked on a little and I"m not sure how much is original and how much is been cobbled up.
