Much Mahalos Gary

Being like a child decided I couldn't wait till next week to go
see how the carb works. So drove the sixty four miles to my
brothers house to put her on. Took me forever to get the
new metal fuel line installed. Must be made in the land of the
almost right. Ok got it on. Climbed on the tractor said a
prayer then hit the starter button. nothing, just spun. forgot
to turn on the key. Turned on the key, hit the button no
choke and she started right up. She purred like a kitten or
maybe more like my rottweiler play growling. Smooth at idle,
smooth hitting the throttle. took her for a test drive down to
the pasture sweet. charged back up the hill sweet. Thank
you much Gary, much mahalo's. Another happy customer.

two issues: I am going to have to spiff up the rest of the old
girl so she matches the Carb. Makes my 8N look sad and
tired.

Steve;
Thanks for the great up-date!! Glad ya liked the carb.
Forgot to tell ya, ......the finish on the carb, is a High-Temp..clearcoat, with ceramic in it. Verdict is not totally in on that yet, so let me know how it holds up for ya!!!! Supposed to ward off spills, of fuel and oil!!!!....Plus sealing the blasted/bare casting!!! (NOT for use inside the carb.)

Thanks again!!!!!

ary only does M/S carbs. The last time I asked him he said he had done around 70 of them. I’ll bet he has done a few more since I asked. With that level of experience and the track record he has of pure quality work including through testing of each and every one of them, there is no doubt in my mind that he is simply the best at what he does.

OK, I'll ask the dumb question. What's an M/S carb?

Caryc;
NOT a dumb ?, especially if you have another brand of carb on yer $4000, 8N.
M/S is short for Marvel/Schebler, a manufacture of many series of tractor carbs., includeing the "N" series Ford tractors.(out of business now)
Here is a sheet that will show you what "N" used what TSX series carb. of the M/S carbs!!!:

GB,

Thanks for the info. Oh..and thank you for the unnecessary snide remark. Kind of shows your true colors.

All I did was ask a legitimate question. I explained that I don't live in one of those big flat states where tractors abound. I also explained about availability and pricing in my part of the country. If you feel you need to make fun of me just for that, than by all means go ahead if it makes you feel superior to me.

(quoted from post at 10:01:47 07/22/10) i fail to see how he made any snide marks he simply answered your question.

What did the price I paid for my tractor have to do with the question? What vital information did that add to his answer and why did he feel hr needed to put that in his post?

It doesn't take a genius to figure that one out.

gb's a nice guy.. I think maybee it's a misunderstanding.. I doubt he meant anything negative by it.

I was so happy when I found this forum for all the good info here. I did not figure the people here were like that. So, I guess he meant something positive by that remark?

It sounds like you really -want- to take offense at stuff said here... so.. I'm not sure if it's worth giving my opinion of the situation.

IMHO.. I don't think GB was trying to insult you.

that's my gut feeling.

As for the price.. maybee he's complimenting you on your N / dunno.. just didn't sound like an insult to me.. that's all I'm saying.

The Shadow thinks caryc has his carburetor tweaked a little too lean. Loosen it up a bit and you might have a lot more fun, especially on this forum which I personally find to be a bunch of fun loving guys and gals. Relax and enjoy. You may even quit kicking your dog.

aryc:
Yesterday in response to a post regarding a high priced 8N on eBay you said:

“I paid $4k for my 8N. But this is not the midwest, this is Southern California.”

Gary did nothing more than repeat what you said in that post. I just don’t get how you have converted that to a negative or some smart a$$ed remark. I didn’t think it was smart a$$ed when you said it.

I can simply say that Gary is a nice guy & not very subtle. If he had intended to insult you, there would be no doubt in anyone's mind. If you wish to take offense at an innocuous remark, that is your prerogative. Just don't expect others around here who know Gary to agree w/ you.

(quoted from post at 18:44:56 07/22/10) I don't think Gary was being unkind.
If he ever is unkind please notify me. I will send him a carb that he can not repair. That will fix him.
