Uhmm that's 1 brick short of a load, or maybe it was one too many!

[Tgrasher]

Hard to believe this happened because of excessive speed.

"Ma'am, we won't be able to get started on your walls today. Accident out on the road. On a positive note, the mortar mix arrived ok."

It looks like they have the fire "banked" in order to keep it from going out and not have to keep tending it.

[MJ in the UK]

Intresting that all the onlookers have come on a bike. MJ.

For some reason, I immediately thought about Indian films. My mother used to watch and from childhood I remember how the main character throws a piece of a rod into a car going towards him, the rod gets into the engine, the car takes off into the air. The heroes of Indian films have a difficult fate.

Why did they put a rag on the smoke stack ?

Showcrop addressed this with the above comment. I'm not familiar with the terminology, just put two and two together from the context.

Happened in Dorking, Surrey, England in 1905. Descending a steep hill, the two loaded wagons took over control of the traction engine.
There is very little grip between steel wheels and the road surface!!
It happened again in 1909!!

They told him the more he bought the cheaper they got so he said just keep loading till they're free. I was in a brickyard loading one time and saw that ad statement on the wall.
