Muti-Power question.

I acquired a MF 135 diesel with the Multi-Power switch on the dash, operating the switch does nothing and I assumed the high clutch was out and the tractor was driving on the low-speed dog clutch. I took the tractor down a small hill to test my assumption and discovered it has good engine braking, so I thought maybe it is locked in high, I went back up the hill and pushed in the clutch expecting the hill holder to kick in. The tractor rolled backward immediately. It acts like a tractor without multi-Power. Is it possible someone has disabled the Multi-Power system or removed it. Thanks for your thoughts.

If tractor has the two stage clutch the hill hold won't work if the clutch is pushed all the way down, which STOPS the three point pump AND the MP pump. Try it again but only push it down half way and see if the hill hold works then. If it has engine braking down hill in hi, but NOT in low the MP clutch is working. What KILLS most MP clutch packs is running the rear end oil TOO LOW. Used to see that a lot as an OLD MF mechanic.

Good point, however, I only pushed the clutch down far enough to disengage the traction clutch.
