Are the high and low ranges in each gear on an M with a 9 speed the
same as a 400/450 using both sides of the TA?
 
No. the TA creates intermediate speeds lower than the direct drive gearing, and clutch free shifting between them. The 9 speed places 4 additional speeds between 4th and 5th. and requires the clutch in all cases. Not similar at all. Jim
