Trying to find the age of tires on my N, the date code is
518254yz. Anybody have any idea?

Tires manufactured in 2000 or earlier have a 10 character identification code, with the date code as the last 3 digits - 157 would be the 15th week of a year ending in 7. It can be hard to determine which year ending in 7; which is the main reason they went to a four digit date code - 1507 would be the 15th week of 2007.
