Now that I have my belt length figured out, I have a 2 hp motor 115, or 220- with no wiring diagram. Can I hook up what I think is the 115 Volt connection to the line taps. and just bump the start, without damaging anything? (all it has for motor connections is studs for spade terminals 1,3,4,5) Stan

I wouldn't chance putting power to it.

A picture of the wiring and name plate might help. I would guess it's a single voltage motor, 3 and 4 are the start windings and 1 and 5 are L1 and L2. Are you sure it's dual voltage?
 
Stan, my memory failed me. Could the 3 be an 8?

Wires are not labeled, and just have push on terminles, and no name plate info. Looks like there was a paper label and it fell off. Stan

Stan,
I would take the motor apart and trace back the wires.
Use an ohmmeter to find two windings for start and two for run.
If you think you know which windings are start and run, connect a 24vac transformer to the start windings. Then use a screwdriver to test for magnetic fields. 2 fields mean you have a 3550 rpm, 4 fields mean you have half the speed.
Do the same with the run windings using 24vac.
Then it is a matter of figuring out if the motor is 120 or 240.
Connect 120 vac first and use an amprobe to measure current.
Good chance the current is on the motor.
Good chance this is a start capacitor, which will make it easy to figure out the stat windings.
It will be a little more fun if it has both start and run capacitor.
If the motor is not running very fast, try 240vac. Watch the current.
