To remove the hood probably requires assistance. I know the hood doesn’t tilt as in the 35’s but has anyone, after removing the 4 screws near the dash, loosened the 2 bolts at the front and tied a tether to say the steering wheel and tried to tilt it forward? The problem is that there is no one to help me.

It can be done by yourself it’s just hard on the back. remove the bolts attaching to the gauge cluster and loosen the bolts at the front axle. Tilt it forward and lift it off in one piece. Make sure you have room to set it down.

A helper is ever so much easier, plus it practically eliminates scratching or denting sheet metal. I see a new nose is still sold, but nothing else.

I did the job myself and it wasn’t too bad and one has to be careful not to damage the side panels as you point out. I still think MF should have hinged the hood as in the 35’s.
