Ok, Everyone has been showing off their snow moving machines. I figured it's my turn.
First off, the inspiration. My dad's tractor, a Ferguson model 50 Hi-Arc. About 10 years ago he put on a 7.5 ft Meyer blade. Lift and tilt runs through the FEL controls.
About 8 years ago we got over 12" of snow which shut down the roads for 3 days. I plowed with my dads tractor and the neighbors 35hp New Holland 4wd with a back blade and FEL. I'll take my dad's set-up on a 50 year old tractor over any new piece of equipment with a back blade.
So, when I decided to set up my 8N a front mount was the way to go. I picked up a 7.5 ft Northman plow for a little over $100. I cut it down to 6.5 ft to make it easier for the little ford to handle.
I converted it over to 12V and added a auxiliary hydraulic pump run off the fan belt.
The pump pulls from the tranny and returns through the Test port, giving live hydraulics for the 3pt. The plow controls are handled by a loader valve.
I built up a frame to mount the balde to. It's tied into the front axle pivot mount as well as the rear axle. Lift is handled by a 2" 2 way cylinder.
So if anyone has any questions, feel free to ask. I'm done showing off the toy now.
