mystery engine please help

I bought a 77 f150 I am restoring it has had a
4 cylinder diesel swapped into it I think it's
ford has FL on the head simms pump I would like
to keep this engine if I can figure out what it
is so I can get parts

It would appear to be a British Ford 2700 series industrial engine. I don't know which specific model... but it is one of them.

That would be approximately like a 1964 Super Major engine. They made industrial and Boat versions also. The tractor had a cast iron oil pan, and different front mounts. I have one that also came out of a Ford pickup. It had a factory adaptor that fit it to a 5-speed manual transmission, (New Process, I think). They may also fit old Ford truck four speeds.

Do you know how many cubic inches or idea of a year or where I could get parts thanks for your help I'm stumped on this one

Cumm that looks like the same engine and trans I have so it's a 64 super majior?

The serial number is on a pad just below the number one injector on the block. That should help pin it down. When used in the Fordson tractors they were 220 cu in. About 50 hp. Don't expect much speed from your truck, maybe 40 mph.

The tractor and boat engines were quite popular so parts are readily available.

I can't make anything from that. My number is stamped into the block, about 1/4 inch below the head gasket and about 4 inches from the front of the block. You can see the numbers stamped above the corner of my data plate in the picture

Ok I'll look tomaro what year ranger was this engine used I have some sort of vacuum regulator on the injection pump

I think the earlier ones were 220 cid and later ones were up to 254 cid. It'd be no powerhouse. Perhaps pushing 70 horse if it's a later one.
Parts.... Shop online in the UK when you nail down exactly what it is. It's kind of an orphan ba$tard on this side of the pond.

Simms vacuum balance rack system, it'll operate like a gaspot when it works correctly. I have a manual for those, as well as that set up on a BMC diesel I put in a MH30 years ago.
