NAA Carburetor

I have a TSX carb on my NAA. I attempted a rebuild a few years ago. I recently have had backfire problems and tried to adjust to carb needle for gas flow. I closed it all the way, but the engine kept running. It won't shut down and it seems the adjusting needle has no effect when turned. Could it be that the rebuild kit had the wrong needle or should I be looking for another carb to install?

Those carbs have 2 neeldes. One is the idle and its up close to the top and then it also has a main jet and it is down lower. If you adjusted the top one all the way in that is normal if it was the lower one then the main jet is clogged up

Post a pic of the needle you adjusted.. the small one by the top of the carb.. near where it mounts to the manifold.. or the bif one on eht eend opposite of the air hose?.. big one on end, if all the way in.. shoulda killed it.. pull the needle for a looksee.. tip gone?

The needle that I adjusted is the small one. My book says to close it down, open one turn and turn back until the tractor runs rough. When I turn it back nothing changes. I can close it all the way down and still nothing happens

Remember that is the idle air needle... it only makes a real noticeable difference at idle anyway, and in is enriching.. might be plugged up anyway.

main needle is opposite.. out to enrich.. etc.
