NAA diff side housing gasket

Is there a difference between the axle housing gasket for a NAA and 8N? My parts book does not show a seperate gasket for the NAA but the local parts guy says he shows a different number and of course he does not have the NAA gasket in stock.

Yes, the NAA gasket is larger. 8N gasket won't fit.

How about a 600, will the gasket from a 600 fit the NAA axle housing?

Clean the mating surfaces good and run a big bead of RTV gasket maker around the mating surfaces and bolt it up. I've not used a gasket on mating surfaces that have no hydraulic pressure in years. At least 40 years.

You're a lot more likely to have a leaker with a gasket that doesn't fit than with the RTV.
Even when you get the gasket that is supposed to fit nine times out of ten they won't.
