NAA "extra" part

I've been restoring my NAA for 6 years now and I thought I took enough pictures as I disassembled it, but evidently not. I've looked in the parts manual but I can't find it. Any help would be appreciated.

Just went out and gave my 53 naa a quick look over and did not see that item but that doesn't mean it shouldn't have one.

Looks like a step plate support bracket to me, but I could be wrong.

I don't know what that part is, but I do know it's definitely not a factory NAA part.

Maybe the bracket that keeps the heathouse away from the generator pulley. At least that is the first thing that comes to mind

None of my NAA's have a part like that.
Home made muffler bracket for vertical exhaust maybe?

That is what I think as well, to keep a heat houser from hitting the generator pulley.

The part looks too "factory" to be homemade. I'll check around the generator for a possible location. Maybe when I get it back together some more things will make more sense. Thank you for the replies.

I just finished tearing my '54 NAA down to paint and did not see a part like that among my pile(s) of parts. I agree on taking lots of pictures though!
