NAPA experience

Yes , John, 100% correct. I would just add that nobody complains about the customer who brings back 3 batteries, insisting that they are defective, when something else is wrong with the vehicle. Or a customer that wants to argue about getting the wrong parts when he gave the wrong information in the first place. There is also much more leniency regarding the return of electronic parts than there was in the past. Used to be all sales final unless the defective part was exchanged for the exact same thing. International used to warranty those worthless glow plug controllers on the old pre-camber 7.3s for 90 days. You could get a second one, but after that you were on your own. Today you can buy a lifetime duralast and change it once a week if you want to, for the original purchase price.

TSC keeps inventory for what sells in an area so blame the customers not TSC.The TSC near me at Ruckersville is a more complete farm store than any of the 3 farm coop stores in the area.

I have the opposite results with my local NAPA. Where I go the guy behind the counter can usually just go back and get the parts without even looking at the computer. Usually the only time he goes to the computer is when it's an item they don't stock and need to order it.

My local NAPA has a bunch of great folks working there. They have the old catalogs and know how to use em. Sure they ask some dumb questions that the computer requires but they realize it is just part of the process. They don t always have what I need in stock but can usually have it in a couple days- most of the time the very next day. Now I will say- NAPA s remanufactured parts are not of the quality of years ago. Always save your receipt! They are very good at honoring their warranty.

Ah, now I get it ..... thanks for the explanation. My comment about losing sleep though still stands, nobody worries much these days if some old fart walks out. Even if he tells about it to a bunch of other old farts on a discussion forum ..... LOL !!!
