Natural Gass Lines

Havein' walked this earth for 66 years there is not much I haven't seen....not much I haven't tried, dangrous or otherwise......I've had everything I needed from a lot of things I've had and a lot more than I wanted from some things that turned out bad.
With that said....I've got a natural gas forge in My blacksmith shop, a LP forge, and bluein' tanks usein' Lp.All Lp comes from My 25 gal. tanks. The Natural gas line is code and regulated properly. Back in older times, Many shop You visited in north Louisiana Had home made gas heaters....often with water hose as pipein' My Question.....I want to change the forge and bluein' setup to nat. gas. The lines have got to be flexable, I want to roll them up and get them off the floor when I'm not usein' them....DO YOU THINK WATER HOSE IS ADEQUATE....IF NOT WHAT WOULD YOU USE??

If I understand what you are doing ..NO,NO no water hose. Look for what they use on LP weed burners or the like. Might be posible to use hydraulic hoses??

go to the big box store, to the barbeque grille parts section, they got all kind of flexible gas line hoses for grilles, and a big assortment of fittings too!!!

Don't use any garden hose. I doubt if you can get long enough flexible hose. There's been problems with those flexible hoses for connecting natural gas to a water heater. Some have ruptured
so I hard piped my heater. I still have them on
the counter type range and wall oven. No problems so far after about 20 years. I would check out hydraulic hose that's been mentioned.
Its used on just about everything and is easy to
work with. A hose like this would work fine. Needs to be a little larger in size. Hal

Make sure that hose is grade T. I have been selling welding supplies for 26 years and sell lots of hose for various gases. Propane LP and Propylene all need to be grade T hose. Good Luck

I have a flexible line with a quick coupler on my gas grill...works great...( it was converted to nat gas)....
