I have heard the same buzz around here about the sale. Not many people willing to take the trip out there now that Kruse has the auction. I know there will be plenty of buyers out there, but not me!

It should be boycotted. A buyer's premium is the Auctioneer's penalty to us for under charging commission. And that's not all...if you were in Yuma last year, you needed some extra cash to pay off the secretary to make you an appointment to get loaded, and then pay the loader guy to GET you loaded. And never, NEVER leave an internet bid with these guys. They will use it to the max!

Why the boycott, will a Kruse auction run up the prices? Who's collection is this?

I am torn, I must admit. This is a huge auction. But, I can"t stand a buyers premium, especially at 10%. That means if you pay 3000, you pay another 300. Plus the fact that they already have a commission. They are double dipping. I know it costs money to promote the auction, but that is part of the cost they should have negotiated. Why penalize a bidder for coming to the auction? That just shows that they don"t expect there to be a high enough attendance to drive the prices up so they can cover their expenses with the commission they are already getting.

Just remember, if you bid $100 on a tractor, you just bid $110.

I, too, am questioning going to an auction where everything has to be paid for. I have heard stories from those at the Yuma auction about paying to get in, paying for a bidders number, buyers premiums, and having to pay to get items loaded. In this case, the buyer"s premium is baffling, because as I understand it, the collection was purchased by the auction company. So, why should we have to pay the auction company to sell their own stuff? I, at this point, am still undecided. I have recently contacted Kruse to get first hand information and currently am awaiting their response.

Those kinda auctions TICK me off ! I stay away from them like the plague.

I try to buy off of individuals and not go to auctions. You get better stuff at cheaper prices.

They have it set up that way at the Kruse Auction Park for there labor day week car aucton in Auburn Indiana. I guess they can't see the difference in people buying cars that go for 1,000,000.00 and people buying 100.00 dollar junk tractors.

Click on Dick L's and down load the bidders agreement, bidders registration, and real estate.
They sure have everything covered in their favor. If you are going to pay cash they want you to deposit $500. at the office, if you dont buy something you get it back. They even talk about bad checks and attorneys fees, 8 percent buyer premium on vehicles, 15 percent on memorabilla.

If you print out the bidder/buyer agreement it says, that if the item has a reserve price the auctioneer has the right to bid on it, to protect the owner, guess who the owner is, this is written on line 8. in the bidders agreement. Also if you pay $10,000. in cash that that amout will be reported to the Federal government, article so and so. Having to maintain insurance on the propery that you buy if Kruse moves the property after 24 hours(time alloted) after you buy it. VERY INTERESTING TO SAY THE LEAST

The reason I am boycotting the sale has nothing to do with Kruse or his charges. I am boycotting the sale because I think it was an unethical move for ANY auction house to take the sale AFTER it had been promised to Aumann. And then on top of that the hurry up the sale date by 2 months. No, like I said, I'm not going. I don't care if they get stuck with all of it. But of course they won't. There will be plenty of guys that don't care about honesty and integrity that will be there looking for bargains.

Ebbsspeed, you just made a huge UNDERSTATEMENT. During the Kruse Auction in Yuma you didn't have to look around to see who you were bidding against. I stood there and actually watched one of the kruse brothers bid against me. It was an embarrassment to the auction profession. Now they demonstrate thier ethics again!! I had first hand experience with their goose-grease!! Someday I would be happy to tell the whole story (like buying off the bidder $5000.00 to resale an item.) I saw it happen!! It was an amazing travety. If I go to Nebraska it won't be to kiss the kruse boys and give them my money. I will stand on the street and give to people who aprreciate it!! (spelling their name in small letters is my own little personal protest they deserve no better).

Ever think of what the real picture might be on all of these unreal charges. Most likely there will be a law suit and an award against someone.
The award might be based on the commission they realize from the sale not the other charges they are charging. The 10% buyers fee is what Aumanns would have charged the seller not the buyer. No matter what the award is in court kruse makes their money from the buyer not the seller. In the end it is probally the heirs that will take the hit as they are the ones that entered into the orginal deal unless they were horn swoggled.

Alright, I have probably posted this half a dozen times before, but here goes again:

If you read the fine print in their "auction terms" section and the section linked through the auction page itself, you will discover: Kruse is charging for parking, $10 to get into the auction, making you pay for a bidder number, if you wish to pay with cash you must hand them a $500 deposit before bidding even begins, charging a 10% buyers premium on vehicles and 15% on parts and literature, plus a 7% sales tax.

When bidding, figure on adding 20%+ to your bid in order to cover the fees and taxes. Oh yeah and if you don't remove your purchases within 24 hours, they will nail you for handling and storage fees. Since the sale is 7 days long, this means you will have to remove your purchases as the auction is still commencing. Also remember that Nebraska in April will be a muddy mess, and hundreds of trucks, trailers, and people are not going to make it any faster or easier to remove items!

I haven't been able to confirm this yet, but I have heard that if you buy a tractor or vehicle and need help loading they will also charge you a fee to make a loading appointment, and then charge you again for the actual loading itself.

Note: On the part about loading above, I just read Scotmac's response, so I guess that verifies this to be true.
