Need a Morse adaptor!!!

I have a drill press here at the house that has a #2 Morse taper. I have a lot of smaller drills that are #2 Morse, so no problem there. The drill press at the main shop at the farm has a #3 Morse taper. I have hundreds of drills for #3 Morse taper. So I want an adaptor that has a #2 Morse male with a #3 Morse female. The only one I have found is made in China. It is only $55 but I would rather have a good US made one.

If you put #2 Morse to #3 Morse adaptor 99% of the search results are a bushing that would be used in a spindle with a #3 Morse. So it basically is just a sleeve with a #3 Morse on the outside and #2 Morse on the inside. This NOT what I need.

So do any of you know of businesses that would have new or used US made adaptors????

We old-timers call the larger-hole-than-shank tool you want a Morse-taper SOCKET; the smaller-hole-than-shank tool is a Morse-taper SLEEVE. That said, I'm not sure if any of the internet seach engines understand those particular semantics.

Morese-taper sockets and sleeves used to be supplied by the 1) drill manufacturers, and 2) IIRC the makers of machine-shop setup tooling, primarily Armstrong Brothers and J H Williams. Today, if you're looking for a used Morse-taper sleeve, I'd suggest checking with second-hand machine tool dealers; for new, start by telephoning Collis Toolholder Corporation in Clinton, Iowa.

John Thank you for telling me the common name was a Morse Taper Socket. I was able to find a Collis on non MSC site and have it ordered.

Jim: I found that exact Collis part number on MSC and ordered it this morning. LOL Thanks for posting the link. I was hoping I ordered the correct one.

The nice thing is the Collis one is US made. The more popular brand, Jacobs, is made in China.
