need a seal 2000

I've decided by 1972 2000 needs brakes. They haven't worked since I got the tractor 1+ years ago, but my place is mostly flat. Just tired of the bushog pushing me into trees. Took the brakes apart to find them soaked in oil. Both sides. Found this oil comint through the rear seals on the axle. Have found the inner seals but can't find the outer ones. Local New Holland dealer says he can't even get them though there is NH part number for them (86531244). Any thoughts out there? Thanks.

I googled and found this site. It only lists the ones with a diff lock.

Maybe give them a call. Never used them so can't give a rec.

Messicks shows 2 in stock with that number. Give them a call. I ahve used them and am real happy with the service.

over run clutch will fix that. otherwise since the pto is driven off the rear end, the momentum of the cutter will apply turning force to the axles... an over run clutch will stop that, brakes will not..........

but brakes are good too. but the "orc" is almost manditory on this type tractor for safety's sake. cheap to buy, easy to install. last for ever.

I think you found a lazy dealer...
I didn't check but I can't see axle seals being unavailable.
If nothing else, measure the shaft size, the bore size and the land thickness and seal offset along with the lip type, then call an industrial/bearing supplier, NAPA, etc who sells CR seals, give them the sizes and they'll get the seals.
Or just call another NH dealer.
