My uncle was in the excavating business. He bought a rock crusher that needed some work. The torque on some of the
bolts in that were 10,000 ft/lb. Not something that you worked on yourself.

You don't say where you are located.

My son worked on one of the big drop forge hammers at
Ladish in Cudahy Wi. When that hammer was operating
the whole neighborhood vibrates. On the nuts they used
a special socket that had ears on the corners. They used
portapower cylinders on the ears to turn the nuts. It was
slow going but it moved the nuts

I've seen those big hyd jobs on power plant maintenance jobs.. Stack anchor bolts if I remember right... them dogs will hunt !!

I'm located in Alabama and I don't know history of bolts...random find on the internet

I don't find a way to add location to profile ????

(quoted from post at 20:58:19 04/10/23) They are actually made of plastic for BFL bolt company
as commemorative type thing

Made of Styrofoam for Blacks Fasteners, New Zealand to commemorate 25 years in business.

Note the small stand holding the head of the bolt in the second pic, small 4x4's also being used. Then the tools the guys are using to make the bolts. Use to be a pics of them being loaded onto a flat bed trailer using only a small 2" or so strap.
