Need advice compact tractor with backhoe

Looking for advice before I start shopping for a small compact tractor. I want a front end loader, mower deck, and backhoe attachment. The back hose can be very small, Ill only be using that to dig up and repair irrigation pipes.

Advice?

y vote would be for a Kubota.

Having an established local dealer WITH A GOOD REPUTATION should be a major factor in your purchase.

The prices of these machines vary wildly, but unless you're good at wrenching on things yourself, you probably don't want to mail order one from halfway across the country. You want to buy it from the local Kubota, Deere, Massey, etc. dealer.

Kubota is probably the most expensive. They're proud of them. Deere seems to want your business. Two friends of mine bought Deeres rather than Kubota because of price.

John Deere has a big sale going on right now on their subcompacts. Like about $4000 off.

In the end it's your hard earned money. if
I were you I'd go to your local dealers and
ask to try each one out and see what you
like the best and what best fits your
needs. Don't expect to dig very fast or
through very hard ground with it. John
Deere and Kubota are the main ones in my
area and both are well built machines so
it's a matter of price preference

friend has a 1025R with the drive over mower. It has been a pain in the dash. The pto has got to be the hardest thing to get and hook up.
Other than that the tractor has been a good investment. But if you plan on taking the deck on and off its not the same as on tv commercial.

I have a 1025r its a good little backhoe but you just have to remember its not a big hoe but a lot easier than a shovel. I like mine. I sold my belly mower didn't need it. The front end loader is really handy to have a round for small jobs. Randy

I really dislike small compact tractor backhoes especially for what
they charge for the darn things. They are barely a step above
shovel. Now a mini-excavator, they are giant step up from shovel.

If you do get one make sure it’s a subframe one and not 3 point.

You want more backhoe than you think for trenching . The little bitty hoes need to move the tractor even couple of feet of ditch. If there are any types of stones, the more hoe the better .

Do you mean irragation lines or something small such as lawn
sprinkler lines ? How small a tractor? A 25 hp compact or a
40hp compact ? It makes a difference in the size of the hoe it
will have. My next door neighbor has a hoe on a 40-45 hp
Ford 4wd with a loader. He likes it, works well, and uses it a
lot. The smaller ones on say a 25 hp tractor I would not waste
the money on unless digging in sandy loose soil ! I would get
the loader though. Those can be very handy. If doing repairs
for yourself go rent a small mini excavator ! Can rent one lots
of times before you would come close to the cost of the
backhoe attachment. Just my 2 cents as a homeowner, part
time farmer , and 23 year heavy equipment operator.

I bought the 1025r Deere. Just love it. I did not need the backhoe so just bought the loader. Very impressed with the digging that thing will do. I bought it to replace a little 70 JD. skidder but wife
uses it as much as I do to replace the wheel barrow.

That is strange ,, unit for unit here KUBOTA is some $800.00 bucks cheaper. We monitor the programs
all the time and I would suspect if KUBOTA is higher in your market it is that one off two things
the Deer dealer is really cutting prices to get in the small tractor market or you KUBOTA dealer is
selling all he can get and is holding his margins. Factor list price favors the KUBOTA right now.

Im talking buried PVC 3 inch irrigation lines. Some buried as shallow as 8-10 inches (I dig those by hand) and some as deep as 3 feet. This last one was a bear because it broke about 6 feet from a very large elm tree. Lots of roots to break through. Was going to rent a machine but my neighbor came through with a big backhoe. Problem is this neighbor uses it for his business and hes usually very busy and cant come do free repairs for me or the other neighbors for up to a week sometimes.

Ultimately Id like to get a compact tractor about the size of my ford 2N but with 4x4, diff lock, loader, underbelly mower, and backhoe. Dont want anything physically larger than a Ford N because it wont fit in my tractor shed.
