Good Morning
This is not a tractor question. I apologize if this is a nuisance. This FORUM is the best for helping me with my vintage tractors.
I have a KEY lawnmower from the early 90s. The KEY manufacturer in FL is out of business. The deck is fabricated, not pressed, which makes it good quality, and I think worth the engine swap out for a new.
I have the specs, etc., for the new engine. SmallEngineWarehouse helped determine the replacement, mounting like for like, etc.
104M02-0197 - 7.25 ft-lbs Briggs & Stratton 725 EXi Series Engine,
Vertical 7/8"x3-5/32" Shaft, 3/8-24 Tapped, Ready Start, Light Flywheel, Blade Safety Brake and glad to help.
I need the blade attachment assembly. Briggs and Stratton are unable to assist due to the manufacturer, KEY, are no longer. This was the last response:
"the blade adaptor is supplied by the equipment manufacturer, not Briggs & Stratton. You will need to locate a blade adaptor that fits a 7/8 diameter shaft.
We’d suggest a web search for an aftermarket alternative."
Aftermarket choices on AMAZON are many. I searched using Vertical 7/8"x3-5/32" Shaft, 3/8-24.
Can someone help me determine which one is correct, who to contact?
Thanks in advance
