need help asap

I put new head gaskets on my 1979 chevy c20 and it was running before i took it apart. I put everything back on exactly as we took it off. Now it will not start, we are getting fuel and spark and worked on the timing and can't get it running. Any advice will be appriciated. thanks

Back off the rocker arms while that cyl is on compression stroke untill you have clearence, not a whole lot, just a little. Then just take out the slack, it should start, then while its at idle back off each rocker untill you hear clicking, then tighten one quarter turn slowly.
