need help identifying a tractor

so I have switched from the red tractors to pretty comfortable tan and red tractors on the farm.. I bought this tractor yesterday for 950 at a auction, its a gas, and I am guessing a case-o-matic which I don't much about.. it was low on trans fluid so we put some in but it still doesn't wanna go in gear easy. seems to almost have no clutch petal at all

You have an early (1960-1963) 541C, which is a 530 spark ignition, row crop with the case-o-matic.

You will need to ensure the com spool valve is adjusted properly so it is releasing oil pressure when the clutch is depressed.

The com won't have a clutch feel, it will
either be in or out like a hydraulic valve
which it is. In the lower gears it will
creep like a car in higher gears it won't
move without some throttle. Think of it as a
car auto trany with manual shift and manual
lockup. Always let the clutch out at idle
while holding the brake, then release the
brake and give it has to move. Real handy
once you get the hang of it.

It is a 541C as Joe said. It has the factory installed 3pt conversion on it with some missing parts. The lower rear side hood panals are missing along with one radiator side panal. The RH rear side panal would have had the sn# on it.

There is a 530 right side panel on EBAY for 45.00. Don't know shipping, was looking for a front axle or leveling link.

Thanks keith i'll be on ebay looking shortly

I will say ya are way more friendly then any of the other discussion areas of this forum I really appreciate all the help and will be posting pics as I start getting this tractor ready for hay season

(quoted from post at 02:57:46 03/22/16)
when ordering a carb kit and other parts for this tractor, do I need to go off of a case 530 or the 541c?

It gets confusing, 541 is just the gas version of the 530 but it is still a 530 for all practical purposes.

It can have a Zenith or Marvel-Schebler carb. Can't tell from the pic which you have for sure but looks like a M-S. Order kit for the model of the carb. If it is a M-S carb the tag will be on the blind side of the choke shaft facing the engine. If you clean it off might be able to get the nr with a mirror. Pic is an example of a model TSX 635 M-S carb. 2-56 is the date of manufacture.

...As Joe (Wa) said, the early 530s like your could have had either a Marvel Schebler or Zenith carburetor.

If your still has the original carburetor the model number will be:

Zenith: 12509

Marvel Scheduler: TSX -799

The later 530s were produced with a Zenith 13106. That is a good number if you need to replace your existing carburetor

thank you thank you thank you ya have been so helpful. Case
has been a leaning curve for me, I'm familiar with international ford and john deere. I really like this little tractor
