Need help identifying tractor

Just looked at a ford tractor. It has 620 stamped on it along with the serial number, 113531. The tractor has 4 speed transmission,a 3 point lift, a PTO & is fueled by LP gas. When I look for info on the model 620 it says it was a bare bones model and didn’t come with a lift or PTO & the propane models were offered in the 640-L & 641-L. What was I looking at? It looked like the propane tank was done at the factory. Did ford offer options on the 620’s?

The transmission, at least, is from a 620. The PTO and 3 point could have been added later. If it was factory LP, it should have the -L stamped as part of the model number. So , it may be a donor transmission. Do you have pictures of the whole tractor?

Here're are a few hints for what they're worth. That does look like factory LPG, below is the diagram from the parts book and a picture of a 960 with factory LPG,. ad dated April 1957. LPG was not offered until 1957, and I'm not sure if was available right at the beginning of the 1957 model year. The serial number 113531 by my interpolation would be a December 1956 production date and 1957 model year. Take your guess as to whether it's a replacement transmission or original missing the L with 3PH and PTO added. As configured it should be a 640-L.

I agree...it looks like a factory LP setup. Maybe they didn't stamp the -L on the early ones, or maybe it was forgotten. It does have hundred series fenders and hood, so I'd lean towards it being original.

A 620 would not have had a hydraulic pump or plumbing, correct? But would have had the pressure and return tubes running thru the transmission, with a block off plate?

So if this was originally a 620, someone would have had to add all the hydraulics and plumbing/PTO or a new rear end and pump and plumbing? Conversely if the transmission is a donor to this tractor (a 641-L) by coincidence the serial number falls in the relatively narrow range to be appropriate for a hundred series tractor/1957 model year when the LP option became available?

So I did some more searching & asking questions. I even learned a little about CHATGPT. Not sure if that was a good idea. Anyway the 620 was a bare bones model in order to keep the price down so a greater number of people could afford it. I am told that dealer could order the 620 with added features like lift arms PTO & the LP option. So I’m done questioning things and now have to decide if I’m going to buy it.

I believe that if a dealer ordered a 620, that it would not come from the factory with the PTO and 3 point lift. The PTO and 3 point lift could be added by the dealer prior to or after the sale, or by the consumer after the sale.
