Need help on Continental belton digger ?

Thinking of restoring this . Does anybody have a paint code for this ? Im not sure what all im missing does anybody have pictures ? How does the automatic raise function work ? This is a drawbar unit that has been put on a cart . Thanks for any help u can give !

It's been a long time since I've seen a new Continental Belton PH digger but IIRC the colors were a dark green on frame and red on the auger. I don't remember a drawbar model like you mentioned. I know there was a frame mounted & a 3pt model. I wish you could get a better closeup photos as I'd like to see how the fabricator that put it on wheels has it set up to get auger straight up & down for digging a straight hole. I bet that digger would be a bear to back up to a given spot to dig a hole on a "X".

One of the feet on mine is bent back from maybe hitting a rock or something while it was being drug around . I can see why this farmer would add wheels. Seems like it makes it more stable also .Heavy axle on this thing ill post pics soon.

John A is exactly right Agmier still has some parts .My uncle had one for years.His was mounted on a three point. His son aquired it after he passed away .Still uses it.He and I repaired it few years ago and he ordered some gearbox seals. One of the best post hole diggers I've seen.Set the depth and each hole is drilled the same.It has the ability to stop turning the auger lift out of the hole, and resume turning to clean the auger and the hole any time the operator pulls the trigger rope from the tractor seat.

So when u say it has depth control ... Do u put a bolt or pin in the frame and as it comes down that bottom bar kicks over the hump to raise it ?

sorry I didn't take a pic of the trip "bar can take one for you it has a spring snap pin in a bracket that will trip the digger cnt

In the 3rd picture with the ropes/pulleys in it there are 2 bars going crossways behind the ropes . Those are the 2 bars that engage/disengage the clutch/brake assembly that one can see under the gearbox and above where auger attaches. When drilling holes an adjustable stop on RH pipe standard is placed at desired hole depth to trip the bars to shift clutch upward(disengaging auger) with causes gearbox to wind cable back to raise gearbox & auger.

I'm glad to see Oldtimer's Disease hasn't totally got me and I was right about the colors(Green on digger & red on auger)

Smoothedeer, I have the same setup which I'm putting back together after restoring. I notice in your photo that just below where the angled support braces join together (at the top cable pulley) there is something (A bracket of some sort?) that is attached to them. I have the holes on my support braces for this part (one on each brace), but I don't have the part itself. What is this part and could you post a close-up picture of it for me? I haven't noticed it on any other photos. Also, the trip mechanism rod that comes down to the "shift guide" (that odd piece with with the spring loaded wheel on it), I'm not sure where to set the nut on that rod. Could you send me a closeup picture of yours? I assume that nut goes below guide-plunger bracket so that you can pull up against it and shift the clutch to engage the cable take-up when the auger is in down position. Is this correct? I was trying to get in touch with Case Nutty, but similar scenario. It's been a few years since they've been on. I'm not expecting much, but thought I'd give it a try. I hope all is well them.
