Need help just bought this backhoe if someone could please help me out with the year it would be great.

I don't think that's the main data plate for the entire tractor loader backhoe but rather just for the backhoe part. There should be a data plate or sticker on the tractor part with model code, unit code, and serial number. Also I don't think it's a 5550 but rather a 555C. The part number starting with E8 at the bottom means designed in 1988 which meshes with model years 89-92 for the 555C. If you can't find the main data plate the model number, serial number, and unit code are stamped on the transmission case to the rear of the starter. They can be hard to see sometimes. The model code should start with DF9 if it's a 555C. The serial number should start with A followed by 6 digits. The A means final assembly took place at the Ford plant in Antwerp Belgium. The unit code will tell the date of final assembly.
 
If there's a tractor attached to that little ID tag, take a few steps back and get a photo of the whole machine. Someone here will know what you have.
