Need info on JD3010

I am looking at purchasing a John Deere 3010 diesel with a JD frond end loader. Price is $8500. It has a nice seat, a buggy top, and is in good shape. Local owner has traded it for a larger tractor with a cab. He has owned it for 17 years and only rebuilt the injector pump 200 hours ago. He farmed 40 acres with it. Two questions: Can dual remotes be added to this tractor and is there such an item called a 3020 kit which takes the power to the JD 3020?

Kirby,
The statement was made on this forum not long ago that by now all 4010's are actually 4020's because the sleeves that have been sold for the last several years are 4020 sleeves installed in 4010's. I don't know if the same can be said of 3010's. I've owned two of them, and I don't think either had been overhauled. (They are both LP's.) I think the sleeves made for 3020's would fit a 3010.

Here's a twin valve stack on a 3020. Ignore the extra "TEE".

IIRC, the 3010 would be set up the same... you remove 3 bolts, drop the bottom plate off of the original valve, install the second valve with the removed lower plate now under the second valve, and bolt it up using longer bols. Then, you have to add a linkage rod and lever, and lines to the back.

Yep, but the injection pump would have to be turned up a little bit to get the same horsepower from the 3020 kit in a 3010 block as the 3020 has.
