Need input from you 5020 tractor pullers.

Thinkin of building a 5020 to pull 12,000 lb. class with a speed limit of 8-10 mph. What do I need to do to make a 5020 competitive? Any input would be helpful. Not new to pulling, current pull a 4010 in 8-10,000 lb. classes. Just need to know what it needs to make one competitive.

Turbo or NA?
What kind of competition will you have, what's the top tractor in that class now?

Well with little information I can tell you the NUMBER one thing to make a JD 5020 a competitive pulling tractor. BOAT LOADS of MONEY!!!! LOL I just could not resist. This applies to ALL makes and brands!!!!

No cubic inch rules to my knowledge, no turbo size or pump size
restrictions. 12,500 weight class, 8-10 mph, with some open class
speed limit. Top competition in class are 1466 & 1066 IH's & a 4020
with a 466 in it.

A late 619 with the updated oil pump drive from a forage harvester. Make room for an air to air intercooler.
