Need some information. Transporting equipment.

I just thought I would get to repost this subject: Just got off the phone with that other side of family. found out that there is to munch work to do to tractors to get ready to ship. Plus shipping was getting to high in price so I just decided to scrap the ideal of getting these two tractors. Thanks for all the replay I had got it is nice to see that this post area still is the best one to go to. thanks Brent

That's tough for most of us. The guys with a truck or in the trucking industry can finagle a better deal.

My uncle bought some equipment out of state through an online auction for cheap. What a deal! Once he finally got the stuff shipped it wiped out any savings and then some. Realistically, big trucks have a lot of expenses and there's no cheap way out of it if the operator is to make a fair wage.

Yes they where in Texas. they had to be hauled to California close to the Nevada border. I am between
Hawthorn Nevada and Bishop California. He wanted to take two tractors which was a I.H. 444 and a Allis
Chalmers it looked like maybe a B or a C model. the problem was they both did not run, and had flat tires.
that is not a good way to have them for transporting. Plus the hauling bill coast would had gone up if he had
to haul in to California.

No sir: I got a call from his daughter explaining what condition they where in. they do not run and had flat tires and then she explain the coast of hauling them to me. Form Texas to California which I can say was 2,000.00 each for there transportation. They had to get a permit to haul it (hot shot permit) for California. She stated her dad had found a buyer in Texas for the two of these tractors. So I declined in the offer to get them from them. It is probably just as well I only have ten tractors right now around my house.

This is so true. these tractors where free to me but what did it in was these tractors had been seating around on the property and had required some work to have them ready to be transported. These two tractors did not run and had flat rotted tires. Plus to think of coast of finding a person to go out there get them running and replace tires on them. That is what they require the tractor to be like when in transporting them. Plus I have to have a dock or a way to unload them when they get to my place. They where going to charge more to come in to California. Some thing about a (hot shot permit). so I just called it off.
