Need some much needed advice

I was wandering if any of you hit a wall so to speak in rebuilding your trucks...I have hit one and find it hard to even work on my projects (65 GMC SW and 50 Chevy)...I do not have a garage or shop...I was just wanting some advice to get back into the mindset of finishing the trucks..and moving on the the next one..

Any helpful advice would appreciated..

Thanks,

Thomas

That happens. Set a goal, find a reason to complete something by a certain time. With a job, you have a goal, you are getting paid. Find a personal reason for completing it. Start with the most difficult part, and work to the easiest.

When I get in that mood I stop working on the project and take a break do something different. Sometime you just burn out and need a few weeks off .
Other suggestion is if you are having a problem juggling 2 projects you may want to sell one or just cover it and forget it until the one you are working on is done.

I myself have extremely long restorations. I teach and only work during the summer. I have a Super 55 Oliver that has been going on for maybe 10 years and a Chevy two ton that has been going on four years. Just keep plodding along. Never give up. Do some small jobs between the big ones. Go on line for advice. Go to shows for inspiration.

Don't worry or think about moving on to the next one until you find the proper ambition to finish up the ones you have now! I've run into the same thing...race stock cars for years, won races and did well. Just this summer I finally finished putting together a real good strong-running car that I'd been working on for two years, only to find out that my ambition to keep the thing running(maintenance etc during the week when not racing) wasn't near what I used to have. So now the whole shootin' match(race car, engine, trailer) is for sale. Maybe someday I'll get back into it, maybe not. Life has a way of turning up new interests to keep a guy going. Just leave your trucks for awhile and go do something else. If they keep speaking to ya and calling you back, there's your motivation. If they don't, sell them as-is and move on.
