Need to date my snapper mower

Going crazy trying to figure it out. Model 306x. Ser.247769 any help would be great

I was a Snapper dealer for several years. I don't recognize that
model number. What style mower is it?

When I was a dealer. The last digit in the serial number was the
year. That would make your mower a 1969,1979,1989,1999, or 2009.

If the eng is a briggs(6hp)check code# on eng tag/flywheel cover stamping,the 1st two numbers in eng code# is year eng built,this should date mower to within 1 yr same was built if eng is orig.Tractordata.com shows the 306x was built 67-69.

the motor is newer around 2000+

So.....are you saying that the original engine has been replaced with a newer than 2000 engine?

It looks to be a 1969 model.

Okay, that model number is kinda weird. You have a 30 inch 6hp
series 2 made in 1969.

The horsepower rating is the weird part. As most early Snapper
rear engine riders used either a 5 or 7hp.

Just want to throw in, had two snapper riders. Very handy machines and
dirt simple to work on.like how you can park them in the garage on
their butts standing in the air. Is that a beauty of an original or a
repaint? Just looks very nice shape.

They did a pretty nice job on it. Looks good. Those macines mow super
duper and are fun to use.

yea im running it kinda hard 2 acres but taking 2 days
