I recently help my dad put a new head gasket on his old tractor, But now it won't throttle up it idle fine, but when moving the lever (giving it gas) nothing happens the governor linkage seems to be working any suggestions.

Thanks

600 was a series, not a model. The 600 series was made from 1955 through 1957. If it is a 1962 tractor it cannot be a 600. It could be a 601 series tractor.

I assume that you disconnected the manifold and carb when the head was replaced. If moving the throttle doesn't change the rpms, then something is wrong with the throttle and/or governor linkage. The throttle is linked to the governor and the goovernor is linked back to the carb. Double check all of the linkages as per the service manual.

You might check the "stop" that clamps onto the rod from the bell crank to the governor. It is the long one. The stop on the rod hits a loop mounted to the block that the rod passes through.
