Neighbor lost his machine shed.

They woke up when the dogs started barking at about midnight. The fire was already well started, and by the time the fire department got there, all they could do was keep it from spreading to the other buildings

They lost a backhoe, loader, skid steer, refrigerated delivery van, two tractors, and two pickups. It also burned out the overhead phone and fiber optic lines, and cut the power to the rest of the buildings.

Yikes, I hope they have good insurance. Also a good reminder for me as I'm hoping to get a new shop building built this year that will be a long distance from the house. Now I'll make sure I setup a remote alarm at the house for the shop smoke alarms.

ETA: A quick check shows that Kiddie has inexpensive dry contact relay modules available to work with their AC interconnected smoke and CO detectors which will make remote monitoring easy.

That is a horrible.....

That is to bad, even with insurance one never seems to recover everything that was lost. I wonder how much plastic fuel and oil tanks as well as lines increase the damage in fires like this.
This is a good reminder to use your smart phone in a productive way. Walk through you buildings and record a video to help you remember what all you have. Especially capturing drawers of tools etc. If this unfortunate event ever happens to you, it will quickly become apparent that doing this was time well spent.

That is a great idea to do at home as well. We would never remember all the small things we have and an annual video is a terrific idea.
