The clips are meant to secure a male bullet nose wiring connector in place.

Thanks for answering. I saw in another thread where somebody said to install bullet heads on the wires but I still can't figure out exactly how the little wire clips are supposed to work.
I worked building multi-million dollar shovels and draglines most of my life but it seems I can't figure out a simple wire clip.

A bullet head like the ones in the link. The clip is a spring and it seats in the groove to retain it.

The clips are not removed they just spring to the side as the terminal is inserted and then seat in the groove when pushed in far enough.

Can someone tell me how these wire clips are supposed to work on this neutral safety switch?

Do a search for male solder on bullet connector. 1940 Fords plus others used them. The crimp on I assume are new and improved.

Newer perhaps, but improved___ I think not. Water gets inside the crimp and causes corrosion if the tiny rubber boots are not used.
