Never figured I would see this piece in person. Pleasant surprise.

I guess so! Where is it? AC had so much going on, I think they could have built anything. I've wondered if that was their downfall.
It is on loan to Mc Leod Co Historical Society handled through Upper Midwest A-C Club in Hutchinson Mn.

In 1959 A-C built a fuel cell tractor. 1 sample only. Search A-C Fuel Cell Tractor. It’s an interesting read.

While it was akin to some other experimentals like Oliver XO-121 and the IH Turbine similarly it was ahead of the technology that might support it’s success.
With that said the things learned helped develop what we have today.
 
OK, so for us mere mortals, what exactly are we looking at??
AC fuel cell tractor. 1008 fuel cells fueled by propane produced direct current to drive an electric motor in 1959. It pulled a two bottom trailer plow. AC's fuel cell technology went on to be used in the space industry, where cost was not a factor!
