new carb flooding

I bought a new carb 8N9501C, Original for my 1950 8N from Yesterdays tractors. It is flooding gas out the intake like the float is stuck. I have tried for 3 days to contact Yesterdays tractor sales or customer service and get stuck on hold until they say call back.

My question to the forum,are the floats locked down for shipment or other adjustment I need to make.

just take it off and give it a shake and then put back on, turn on gas see if it does it. if still pouring out, lightly rap on the side of it with a hammer HANDLE. if still nothing.. then.. personally.. i'd pull the main needle and 4 bolts and take a look.. beings as how it is new.. not sure if that would void your warranty or not.. so if the first 2 sugestions don't do it.. i'd call and talk to someone before doing 3rd.

might just be something simple like the hinge pin slid out partially and just needs to be slipped back in or something.

Every carb I ever bought new had a slip included that said if you opened it up the warranty was void. That would be a grand total of "1" because I always rebuild my carbs but this one the kit was more expensive than the carb. Only stands to reason.

Do as Soundguy says. There is a chance that the little needle operated by the float is not properly seating , or the tip of the needle doesn't have a Viton nose that fits tightly into the seal. Sometimes in shipping these things get stuck. Taking it apart to check the float valve will void any warenty that may have come with it. I got many years ago a "so called" new replacement Marvel-Schebler carb and it leaked from day one. I eventually replaced it with a new Zenith upgrade which made all the difference in the world.

I have always gotten the best in customer service from YT parts. do not know what happened in this case but i would try again. They will make it right!
