New case 310 crawler

Brought this one home today, my first dozer. Was too good of deal to pass up. I can’t tell if it’s a 310d or e? The serial tag is missing and I haven’t been able to find a s/n on the frame. It’s a four-roller but I’m not sure the power tilt blade was available for d’s? Want to order a manual and parts book but want to get the right one. Then on to finding parts!

S/n should be stamped on top of left eng side frame about behind your blade cyl frame , would guess it to be a E or F , the D series had the head lights on the top off the front nose and not in like yours .

It may well be a 310E the 310F has the same grill system as a 310G and 350's I will look if I get time at the parts books on them, I have not seen one with that style grill, but I do not remember seeing a 310E yet either , looks like a well kept unit ,, do not use EP rated 80-90wt in the transmission/diff,, it will not work with your band steering material

thanks! It may be that a previous owner added some mesh over the grill?

Congrats on the new toy, you'll love it!
There could be a mix of parts on your machine. For instance, the rear supports on the ROPS were made from the main loader arms on a 310 loader.
The grill matches 310E, same as mine. The shop manual is pretty much "one size fits all", covers the whole 300 series, well worth it. Parts book is individual, as well as the Owner's manual which is also kinda nice to have.
I'm not the only one in the forum with a version of this machine, so almost any question can be answered, from paint to piston.
Where are you located? I have a couple/few hundred pounds of parts looking for a good home.
Case Nutty is right about the tranny/final drive oil. Use only GL-1 (Straight Mineral Gear Oil).

Thanks so much for the reply! It certainly makes sense that it could be a combo of parts thrown together. I am trying to figure out what manifold I need, as mine is cracked and after looking around, not original. It seems some have the exhaust outlet facing up and others it faces out?

I'm in southeast Michigan and could def use some connections for experts on these machines!

All kinds of used parts dealers out your way including the ones that support this site. If you can find your engine in the parts manuals, search the manifold part number & presto.
