New exhaust

Just got the new exhause in for my ym1600. I noticed that the stand pipe that the flipper is on is smaller that the one i am replaceing. I checked models on both sides of mine and they both call for the same muffler. Was the old exhaust incorrect or will the smaller pipe restrict the engine?

It is hard to say what was originally on there but the muffler that we sell is correct. It will not restrict the exhaust and is the same muffler that is used all the way up to around 40hp Yanmars.

If you think about it, look at the old hot rods with big blocks. 2" exhaust was pretty standard on those and the engines are 5x bigger.
