New Farmalls

Who has one of the newer Farmall 80-95 tractors?
Would like to hear pros and cons. I just bought a 2010 95 and am loving it.
But I do have some reservations on the MFD operation. The rears slip like crazy while the fronts never slip.

Beresford, SD guy here - I knew you running the new stuff now, been following your posts.....
my hay season is done, but might square bale some corn stalks yet - we shall see......
ANYWAY, back to your comment, I don"t have any experience with anything near that new , or any new Farmall for that matter, but I do have a tractor (no cab) about the same HP and same tires as yours would have. In 2wd mode I do not get the feeling my tractor is helpless, BUT, it takes very little load pulled behind the tractor and even on a gravel road going up a hill I can loose traction just like ice - I have enough power to keep the rears spinning, but my tractor is just so light in the back, plus I keep plenty of air in the back tires, that it is just has very minimal traction. BUT, engage the front wheels in and you are good to go. I can get it to slip - pushing snow on a hard pack surface, but that tractor is like a beast in MFWD mode. Of course, tread on my front tires is probably better than on my rears also. Do you have 30" wheels/tires on the rear (my rear are 16.9x34) but the 30" would be even more slippery.

zno. I have the 34 inch wheels. Also have the 730 loader on there and no fluid or weights on the rear.

You need fluid & weights. Most if not all loader tractors "here" have fluid filled rears.

Gordy,
I have the 95 with the 730 loader, it now has just over 200 hours on it.
It has had a number problems from new. No air (no freon)stumbled pulling the baler (air leak in the fuel line) While trouble shooting that they burnt the paint off the loader. PTO cable broke, hood wouldn't stay closed (I think they got it hot when they burnt the paint off the loader) leak in the roof (they claimed a drain hose was plugged). First time in it after they brought it back from that repair it had no air again (a burnt up harness? And to top it off once they fixed that the decorative cover on the steering wheel fell off in the floor (not a biggy, just frustrating) When it is working it is a great machine, but they have hauled it back to the dealer so many times I threatend to go to our State Att General if they didn't get it fixed right.
Neighbor works for the state and drives both Farmall 95s, and the equivlent JDs. He bought a JD because of all my troubles. Guess what his JD had to go back in the first week because of a hyd leak. Hope yours is better

I have just over 100 hrs on mine. Only problem was arear window that wouldn't open. The dealer ordered a new handle assembly for me and I installed it in about 5 minutes.
When they delivered it there was a stone chip in the windshield that wasn't there when I bought it. So I have new windshield in a wooden crate in the shop. Let me know if you ever need one.
I've ordered six wheel weights for the rears. Will take some time to get them without paying the freight. The dealer won't sell me the weights off the new one on the lot, go figure.

Once you are in 4x4 the fronts should slip as much as the rears.

You should only have trouble with not having enough counterbalance while in 2 wheel drive.
